STARLIGHT Plague amongst the Flowers (Episode 9)

The moment her lightsabers went through her, Twisted Z let out a horrendeus scream, sort of the same like Barracudas herself did before and suddenly she exploded, a wave of visible dark energy dispersed around their location and blew Barracudas away. In her weakened state she couldn't turn herself arround in time so she slid on her back upon contacting the ground. But at least the fight was over, letting out a sigh she got back up wincing at the scrams she felt on her back from the fight and the spasms of her limbs from the lightning Master Zemalia used on her to force the spirit out. Taking her commlink, she spoke into it. "Axo, Sicilia you can come out, it's safe now, we defeated the force spirit."

As Sicilia was doing the scanning ... they detected an approaching imperial vessel, and it fired a projectile at the facility.

Receiving back the result of her scan she found a lot of blanks on her readings. Receiving some kind of weird energy activity, seeing it entering Barracudas and her following change only made her more confused. "Some weird energy is hanging around Barracudas it seems getting attached to her. It's weakening while she gets attacked." She observed after Zemalia's force lightning. "It has released itself somehow. Wth is going on over there." and then the scream and dark wave happened completely giving her the chills of what happened. Suddenly her device gets red alerts. "What... incoming misile!?" Setting up the right frequency she shouts back at Barracudas, interrupting her own message. "Incoming imperial vehicle, it launched something towards the facility. Take cover!"

High Councillor Bela watches the raghouls running towards the fences, ignoring her and everyone else. Instinctively they are trying to escape the missile impact, without bothering to attack anyone. She suddenly realizes that they are all in danger, and Sicilia just confirmed it via holo call. High Councillor Bela had no time to be gently, everyone could see missile hitting the facility. She uses the Force to toss Zemalia and Barracudas over the fence, then she turned back towards facility, seeing the wave of energy and explosion bubble growing, moving towards her. The she force jumps over the fence. Raghouls in courtyard end up destroyed, and explosion brings down the fences. Bela moved entire party using the force to enough safe location to survive, but even they get caught in the edge of the explosion bubble and get pushed, thrown away few meters (no hp loss just cinematics). When the explosion finally ends, and the brightness disappears, the vision becomes clear, showing a crater with some remains of facility walls, where the imperials were doing research on the raghouls. It appears that infection was ... stopped ... but at what cost?

Zemalia decided to stay with Barracudas, without sending any extra hand. This slows Oyo down to reach his friends to save them on time. Palomella shoots down two raghouls and goes back to back with Kai, who is deflecting bolts from the imperials. They are being surrounded. And when Oyo just arrived, he was able to see Palomella being separated with the Force Pull from Kai, into the mysterious dark figure. His red lightsaber beam goes through her heart, she opens her eyes in pain, losing her grip over the flower that can be used to cure raghoul plague, and drops it. It falls down, being inside a glassy box, the box shatters. Dark mysterious assassin pushes lifeless body of Palomella back to Kai's arms, and then disappears into shadows, when he reaches safe location, he sends orders for the missile, and then sits on his speeder and leaves the area. If Lin'drala was here, she could have recognize him as Lord Tazor's Apprentice, that she decided to arrest many months ago, with difference that he is an apprentice no more. Kai looks at his love, but she showed no sign of life. She died ... for him. The whole operation was to save her love, to create cure for Kai. And now that hope lays in the flower, vulnerable on the floor. Imperials running everywhere as well as raghouls chasing after them, they hit the flower into unknown direction, into the half dark room, because lights were damaged as well, shimmering, creating light and darkness from moment to moment. Kai seeing Palomella being marauder in front of his eyes awakes raghoul anger and rage within his cells, his skin and eyes change, and mutation starts to manifest itself. When lights turn off and on again, it shows Kai growing in size, ragging. He grabs the big raghoul nearby and rips off his head. There can be only one true Alpha Raghoul, and that is Kai. The mutation affects his brain as well, and in all the rage and sadness, in Kai's eyes it was Oyo's fault for not coming on time ... for wasting his time with the jedi. He drops his purple lightsaber, because how big her grew it was no longer fit for his hand, nor needed. He rises up above Oyo, moving towards him to attack. Pherpas Twisted Zemalia will finally be destroyed (Zemalia's Team is fighting her outside) ... but her will won today anyway ... and an apprentice WILL fight the master after all ...

Oyo ends up stunned in place when he sees death of Palomella. He does a wary cry and reaches for his lightsaber hilts to charge after the assassin, but then he remembers about Kai's condition. He stops himself and looks back at Kai's transformation. Lot of things were going through his head now ... but one was clear, and he worded it to Kai, as he was making steps backwards from Kai, and activates his both lightsabers: "Kai ... please don't make me do this! Remember! You suppressed this before, it's still not too late to save you!" But there was one thing missing in this equation, and that is Palomella. Oyo finally realized that his words will not do a thing, and he had to rise his lightsaber against his student ... against his friend ... that he failed to save.

"I don't want to hurt you, stay back!" Despite of Oyo's warning, Kai did not listen, his cells mutated to that level, that he no longer recognizes Oyo as a friend. Over four meters now tall Kai in his rakghoul forces even Oyo to rise his head to be able to look at his face. Kai hits Oyo with his arm sending him few meters into a wall. Oyo hits in wall and slips down on his feet, shaking his head to come to himself. But he ends up caught for neck by Kai, and tossed again across the room, behind chairs and desks where Oyo falls and drops his lightsabers in dark. Oyo leans with his arm on one of the desks to get up, dead Palomella reflecting in his helmet glasses. He spots the serum she had next to her body, to revert Kai back to his form, and when he was about to reach it his hand, Kai jumps over the desk and attacks Oyo for neck with his mouth full of sharp teeth. Oyo blocks it with his own armored arm, forcing it horizontally into Kai's mouth, and then he himself groans from the pain he is getting from the bite. With his free hand he attempts to weaken Kai's bite by trying tp push him back for his snout, and then to summon the serum with Force into his hand. But just when he was about to do so, an imperial coward that was running steps over the serum injection, breaking it, and all what is left now of the serum is blur on the floor, and on the imperial's boot. That was the last hope, all what is left visible in the sight was Kai's lightsaber. As the bite became stronger, Oyo knew that he wont stand long, and eventually Kai will rip of his hand through the armor. Instinctively, without wanting to do so, Oyo summons Kai's lightsaber into his free hand, activates it, and then dives it into Kai's heart. Kai's bite becomes weaker as he opens his eyes wider, as the life in him fades away. As Kai dies in his alpha rakghoul form, his weight almost overwhelms Oyo. If Oyo was not a gladiator and naturally strong, Kai would collapse over him. Oyo pulls his arm out of his friend's mouth, and when Kai literally dies on Oyo's arms, Oyo pushes him up and lets him fall down next to Palomella. He looks at them both dead, disappointed in himself "I failed you ... I left Jedi Order so I can help you, and you are now both dead ..." Suddenly computers start screaming red alerts, disturbing Oyo even more than he was already. When he looks at a computer he sees the missile incoming. He looks around himself, he was in rakghoul facility, he approaches to the cage made specifically for Alpha Rakghoul, the strongest cage that could probably give Oyo the chance to survive the blast. Oyo enters the cage and closes himself inside, without locking the cage, in the last moment when the missile hits in the facility (gladiator gives 50% DR against damage that would kill a rattataki, on normal difficulty I chose my character to live this time).

Oyo could be found in the crater next to the half destroyed cage, survived but unconscious. He needs kolto tank, for his size probably two dosages. Will he be left behind, or someone will (try to) carry him back to the ship?
